The sun will move through the first decan of Pisces through February 28th, and beyond the recent separation of the annual sun/Saturn conjunction and today’s (February 19) new moon in Pisces, the sun—through this first decan—will apply only to the North Node, by sextile, through a degree describing ‘a call to action’—exact February 25th.
The NN—either natally or in transit—represents that which lies just beyond our comforts, just beyond that boundary of the unknown… and that of which we seek.
This ‘call to action’ comes at a time when Venus is moving into Aries and Mercury is moving through the second decan of Aquarius—a decan governed by Mercury—and so these ten days are particularly potent with personal obligation, and magical intentions…
As many of you read within my Moon Moods post regarding the Pisces New Moon, this decan is ruled by Saturn and associated to the 8 of cups within the tarot—a card which is known to represent ‘reflection, moving on, new directions, letting go, downsizing, and restlessness…’
Astrologer Austin Coppock writes of this decan, that it is “the process of return, the beginning of the end of differentiated awareness… these faces show a fearful and ecstatic going back, a drunken stumbling home—or origin is, of course, not of this world, but what came before and lies afterward… our relationship with what lies beyond the boundaries.”
Further, Coppock comments that “it is a place where much will be left behind, for the expectations we enter. this phase with are not those that we will leave with…”
Which is to suggest, then, that through this first decan of Pisces—under the obligations of Saturn—there is a transition to embrace, and participate in… through this decan we become something more than we were before—something stronger.
Something more capable.
Though, as with anything regarding Saturn, these benefits are not simply given or so easily earned… but worked hard for and made priority within one’s personal resources.
Truly, today’s Piscean new moon speaks of dreams and dreaming—this decan, as it is ruled by Saturn, requires more than just subconscious participations. Further, these dreams demand a more serious devotion—these daydreams should not be frivolous or silly. As I regarded the etymological differences between the terms of daydreaming and reverie several handfuls of posts ago—reveries tend to be more dedicated, tied more sentimentally to something quite powerful within, such as a memory… whereas daydreams are without any accountability.
Either way, today’s daydreams will need accountability.
Your daydreams, within the next ten days, will become like a second job—should you want to be granted the benefits.
And the benefits—they be boundless…
