Mars is our movement planet—associated with our motivations, our goals, our egoic pursuits, and our inner, more primitive impulses—and Mars has been quite quiet since moving into Cancer…
Since March 25th—when Mars moved into Cancer from moving through Gemini since August of 2022—beyond its trine to Saturn, this quiet movement of Mars is precisely because it’s in Cancer.
Remember?—Mars is a warrior without its sword in Cancer… all battling moves inward, within the thick of our squish—within the plump of our most privately personal fears… it’s no battle many wish to so eagerly or openly share with others.
Not to mention an utter lack of planetary aspecting… which is to say—no one knocking on its door to initiate a conversation…
Until now.
Mars is applying a square to Chiron in Aries, while simultaneously moving into a building square between Pluto and the Nodes—which I will write upon in the near future… as I wrote from the post linked above, “Mars, as the red warrior, fiercely moving forward, into the face of rage and danger—within the bounds of Cancer—must now confront and face down the inner fears and anxieties we all wield… because there is no sword involved here, the metaphorical sword is that of which we use on ourselves, such as through negative self-talk, or passive-aggressive defenses, or even the projections of our own fears onto others. And se we must now go inward with ourselves to find the sword we use upon ourselves, to retrieve it and heal…”
Our earliest conditioning is being battled by our current needs, desires, and ideals.
Going inward so aggressively within ourselves isn’t everyone’s favorite thing—I get it—but it’s necessary. And I also understand that doing so while Mars is squaring Chiron, of all things, that this process may even be a bit more daunting than it might have been otherwise… though, this is really neither here nor there at this point—the point, now, is to care for yourself more deeply, more lovingly, more aggressively.
Mars will connect to Chiron by square on Thursday, April 27th, through a degree that speaks of nurturance—of nurturing others through the nurturing of self.
When we are better, we are better for others.
When we are at our best, we can offer others that much more.
When we are living our dreams, we connect others to theirs in so many ways…
And as Mars is involved, this may very well suggest the need to fight for this—to even separate yourself from others quite literally to provide yourself with some much-needed quality time with yourself—to be alone, to reflect, and to realign yourself.
But this absolutely suggests that through this week—as the week’s energies only continue to build—you begin to explore the benefits and advantages of forgiving yourself of anything you feel weighing you down, allowing yourself to be inherently true to yourself in whatever way that looks like to you, and to most genuinely initiate a change in how you relate to yourself overall… to heal, and to learn to love yourself—or to learn to love yourself in new ways, on deeper levels, from this point on…
The shadow side of these energies could also emerge, in which case you might decide to continue repressing, rejecting, resisting, avoiding, denying, and projecting your burdens onto others, to which many a reaction would be to self-soothe—particularly, now, with food or sweets—and sometimes self-soothing can go too far.
Nurturing yourself, as advised above, doesn’t include caloric overwhelm—or an overwhelm of anything that feels too good in any way, as this isn’t the point either.
Try to keep this is check now, because if you’re able to make any effort in physicality now you might actually be able to build a healthy resistance from which to build further from… we all must begin somewhere.
This post was short and somewhat sweetly severe—but nevertheless worth reminding you to be good to yourself, to thrive, and to take your time with yourself now.
