There are days when the Earth opens up not to swallow you, but to whisper something ancient into your bones—and April 23 is one of them…

The sun in Taurus squares Pluto in Aquarius at 4°, and what we get is not a confrontation so much as a cosmic seduction—the kind that pulls you in by your deepest roots and drags your psyche across the velvet underground of everything you didn’t know you remembered.

Because the Taurus sun isn’t just basking in blooming lilacs and buttered toast—it’s holding vigil in a temple made of breath, body, and bones that remember.

And Pluto in Aquarius? He’s the underworld’s software engineer, rebooting reality from the back end of the astral mainframe.

This square is a mystical conflict staged between embodiment and ether, simplicity and subversion, the holy hum of the known and the terrifying seduction of what lives beyond it…

The result? You feel it in your marrow: the strange, vertiginous awareness that something is happening beneath the happening—that time is a costume, and you’re waking up in the middle of the play with no script, only intuition and an inexplicable hunger for something that doesn’t yet exist.

This isn’t your garden-variety personal transformation.

No scented candles or positive affirmations will do…

This is initiation by pressure.

Psychic spelunking.

A descent into the catacombs of self where the only light is the flicker of mythos and the only map is written in the language of vapor and déjà vu…

You’re not just being asked to transform—you’re being recruited by the ineffable.

The rub? This square doesn’t move quickly.

It holds. It hovers. It hums.

You may find yourself caught in a trance—dreaming without acting, absorbing without integrating. Creative powers well up like spring-fed pools and then refuse to flow, dammed by something you can’t name.

It’s wistful. Naive. Potent. And maddening.

You may long to bring something through—from the dream world, from the dead, from the realm of ideas that don’t yet have words—but until you foster disciplined attunement, until you respect the pause, the doorway stays just out of reach…

But that’s the point. This square doesn’t exist to let you through easily—it exists to make you worthy of the passage.

And yet—ah, yet—there are flashes.

Astounding ones.

Moments when the veil peels back like wet cellophane and you see something true.

Something that shatters your world not with despair, but with recognition—you are not who you thought you were—the world is not what it pretends to be… and thank the gods for that.

You begin to feel it: the resonance of a new architecture beneath the rubble—a rhythm in the dark—a calling to gather with others who have also smelled the ozone of awakening and want to build something else…

Something freer. Stranger. Truer.

Sun/Pluto squares don’t give you answers—they give you riddles with teeth. And inside each one is a fragment of the next world.

This isn’t transformation by fire. This is transformation by remembering… not who you’ve been, but who you’ve been carrying.

And as the sun in Taurus anchors you to what’s real, Pluto in Aquarius demands that you redefine what “real” even means.

So go ahead—stand barefoot in the ruins.

Close your eyes.

And listen.

Because the future’s not coming…

It’s already murmuring from the dirt beneath your feet.

The 1st Quarter Square in the Sun/Pluto Cycle

Some aspects crash through the sky with the sound of thunder. Others whisper. This one rumbles…

Not loud enough to wake the neighbors, but deep enough to make the roots of your teeth hum.

On April 23, the sun in Taurus squares Pluto in Aquarius at 4°, marking the first quarter square in a brand new Sun/Pluto cycle that began on January 21, 2025, at 1°43’ Aquarius.

This isn’t just any square—it’s the pressure point where the seed of change meets the resistance of what still clings to form.

It’s the moment the dream must declare itself in the body…

The new cycle began with a strange, split-screen kind of awareness—an initial conjunction degree that whispered, “Be logical,” while simultaneously dragging your subconscious into the basement of your own outlawed truth…

A reality check laced with irony.

A handshake between the visible and the hidden.

A joke only your shadow could laugh at.

And now here we are, three months later, staring at the first square—the crisis of action.

The moment when the soul, freshly downloaded with that initial Aquarian blueprint, looks around and mutters, “Okay, but how the hell do I live this out in a body, in a job, in a world that’s allergic to the unknown?”

The Taurus sun is no revolutionary. It prefers loam to lightning, embodiment to abstraction. But Pluto in Aquarius isn’t asking for comfort—it’s demanding a restructuring of reality that starts not with institutions, but with you.

You, sitting in your skin.

You, with your cravings and contradictions and the quiet hum of a future that won’t let you sleep…

This square is the moment that future says: Move.

But not in a way you’ve moved before.

Not by pushing harder or faster or louder.

This is a deeper movement—a psychic undamming… a soul-level shift from passive absorption to active engagement with the mystery.

And yet—you might feel stalled.

Caught between the dream and the deed. Hovering in the heavy middle like a tuning fork waiting to be struck.

You see, this cycle’s arc isn’t linear. It loops.

The initial conjunction at 1° Aquarius was paradoxical, wrapped in cognitive dissonance and calling you to become aware of what you’re not aware of. This first square at 4° is where the denial starts to sweat… where the longing to remain asleep collides with the flickering recognition that something’s happening—and you’re it.

And there’s more…

The opposition—which will occur on July 24, 2025, with the sun in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius at 2°36’—will be a revelation, a rupture, a turning point so wide-eyed it could only come from fire and air.

That degree speaks of timelessness, of letting go of karma and entering the realm of the wildly possible.

No fixed point.

No clear direction.

Just the willingness to roam open fields of potential, bearing ideals through the dark like fireflies in your ribcage…

Then, on October 24, we’ll meet the last quarter square at 1°24’—echoing back to that original conjunction.

Same degree, same joke: the mind insisting on logic, the soul muttering secrets from the shadows.

This closing square will ask: Did you change the pattern, or just narrate it more eloquently?

And then—ah, then—comes the rebirth…

On January 23, 2026, the next Sun/Pluto conjunction strikes at 3°25’ Aquarius, a degree vibrating with staggering awareness—that’s where the lights come on.

Where slumber snaps.

Where revelation isn’t poetic—it’s planetary.

You become the ground floor of a new mythos. Not a concept, but a presence. Not a hope, but a pulse.

But right now, in April 2025, we’re in the thick of the first challenge…

The part where the transformation isn’t sexy. Where the body resists what the soul already knows. Where Taurus wants to stay still and Pluto wants to compost the whole system.

It’s uncomfortable. It’s slow. It’s holy.

You might feel like you’re being used by forces you can’t name. You might dream like you’re receiving radio transmissions from the bones of extinct civilizations. You might weep without knowing why…

Good. You’re listening.

This is not the moment to seek control.

This is the moment to attune.

To remember what it means to belong to a vision not yet born—to honor the tension between what’s sprouting and what’s still underground.

Because beneath all this earthy resistance and psychic haunting is a truth shimmering like quartz in loam…

You are not broken.

You are blooming through unfamiliar terrain.

And the future—the real future—is humming in your chest, waiting for you to hear it.

Here’s the zodiacal breakdown of how this first quarter square of the newest Sun/Pluto cycle—might resonate for each sun and rising sign…
