Saturn moves into Pisces on Tuesday, March 7th, and will navigate these deepest waters through May of 2025—though ultimately, due to retrograde, until February 14th of 2026.
The last time Saturn moved through Pisces was from January of 1994 through early April of 1996. It is recommended you reflect back to this time in your life, to this time within your own personal reality… we could touch upon handfuls of examples among the collective—be it the blurry rebelliousness of the grunge music movement of that time, the numbing heroin chic that intoxicated the runways and prompted impossible standards within women’s fashion and parameters of beauty, the birth of what we now refer to (and endlessly rely on) as the internet, or the overwhelming ‘empathy’ shown to the presidency of Bill Clinton and his infamous example in boundariless relations…
Though it is much more essential for you to consider what these overall energies, the energies you directly experienced within your own personal version through these years—to reflect back upon what these meant for you, personally, in an effort to examine what they might mean for you now.
As with Saturn—it’s always best to look back while looking forward.
It’s particularly important for you to be aware of what house within your nativity this Saturn in Pisces transit will direct its energies toward within your personal reality.
—Because, wherever Saturn moves, a new level of lessons and learning emerge in an effort to manifest a higher level of responsibility and maturity begin to literally take form…
Saturn is form. Pisces is formlessness…
Saturn is limitations. Pisces is limitlessness…
This is one of the many reasons I have been yammering on for nearly a year about preparations and planning, strategizing and solidifying your plans, dreams, and ideals.
—Because Piscean energies inspire our ideals… and Saturn will dutifully build them.
If—and this is a severe if—you’ve already been working toward these plans, dreams, and ideals on your own and have a healthy, stable foundation from which to build more determinedly through this transit.
—
Wherever Pisces is within your nativity, which is to say whatever sector of your life Pisces governs—and both Jupiter and Neptune co-rule—is where you likely find much inspiration or magical thinking, as well as through which you possess a seemingly endless empathy or compassion… though it may also be from where you need to, at least occasionally—if not permanently, numb with self-soothing and/or seek escape.
Obviously, Saturn isn’t too keen on numbing or escaping—so immediately, this implies that the next two years will present mighty challenges toward efforts made in either of these directions… as for magical thinking, and/or energies utilized in empathizing or compassionate determinations—Saturn will need to deem these constructive and productive, as futility is simply energies egoically wasted. Further, Saturn will (re)examine any efforts in compassion or empathy that simply do not genuinely exude compassion or truly express empathetically. In Pisces, the ego is released—transmuted into efforts of Otherness that resound throughout the ether—and so selfishly founded efforts or empty examples in authenticity will be called out.
Further still, acts of rebelliousness as content for ‘influencers’ will become pitiful.
I am embarrassed that I am unable to site my source upon this quote—it is an astrologer that I was reading last summer, a quote I wrote down as a note, and my growing distractedness apparently never re-referenced this article—but an astrologer wrote of this Saturn in Pisces transit, that “the excuses of overwhelm and dissociation will grow tiresome—personal accountabilities will finally be more readily expected…”
With Saturn in Pisces we will all be under review to take personal responsibility for our sensitivities…
Which is to say—everything that we find so triggering—as well as the personal sensitivities we all have (have we not numbed them out completely), such as intuitive impulses and instincts, our inner knowing, and our inner connectivity to All That Is.
To these extremes we will become directly personally responsible. No excuses.
Your reasons will become irrational.
Are you, in whatever way, escaping your obligations within this lifetime?—are you hoarding your gifts and not sharing with humanity?
Escaping not only refers to numbing oneself with intoxicating substances—within the realm of Pisces, this can also refer to martyrdom, as in using your own personal choices as excuses (‘reasons’) why you’re unable to fully live your life in a way that both resembles a vitality of being-ness and a living embodiment of joy through sharing Self with Other.
Excuses can sound like: I’m so busy with work, I couldn’t possibly… or I already have too many other obligations, what—with my husband, my kids, and all of their needs—they need me too much to step away for myself… Ugh.
This excuse can also refer to some self-imagined, self-assigned entitlement—through someone who ‘just doesn’t fit in with the status quo, no one understands me…’ Blah.
The very essence of the resemblances of empathy and compassion that are much more enhanced through Pisces is the very dissolution of all differences—in Pisces we begin to blend and morph and blur together—in Pisces we become humanity, we become a universal collective—in Pisces we ask ourselves how we can apply ourselves in a larger, greater service… where/how we can sacrifice a comfort or preference for Other.
All differences are forgiven—all uniquenesses illuminated, and encouraged.
And when Saturn moves through Pisces, no—this doesn’t mean that you take one batch of clothing to donate, or commit to a soup kitchen for merely a week and consider yourself a savior, or ‘a good person’, which you can then so eagerly post about on social media—with Saturn we must commit fully and totally, daily, and quite seriously, as if you’re training or studying for the bar.
Saturn transits are very similar to apprenticeships…
And through these apprenticeships, we are the grunt of whatever trade we’re training.
With Saturn’s guidance—we eventually, over time, learn mastery.
And this is why Saturn is associated with slowness and time, patience, and drudgery.
Even in Pisces, where ‘handouts’ are much more common—even expected—when Saturn visits there will be no handout: when Saturn visits everything will be earned.
And on that harsh note…
