Solar Spotlights

Sun in Aries, Taurus

The sun connects to Chiron by the 5th—and I’ve already posted content about this here, though what I haven’t informed upon is that this conjunction occurs on the day of the full moon, and you can read about that on April 5th through my daily Moon Moods posts—and will then move forward to connect with Jupiter, in conjunction, by April 11th, through the third and final decan of Aries—yet to be posted for paid subscribers—though this annual conjunction occurs, this year, through a degree denoting prospects, so it’s sure to be worth the open-mindedness of Aries-like natural curiosity.

It will be important, this year particularly, to maintain as much Aries-fashioned enthusiasm as is possible, despite your natal affinity, as once the sun ingresses into Taurus, much enthusiasms will thereby turn quite real… if you’ve made the moves.

From this mid-month point, the sun moves into a square to Pluto as it shifts into Taurus from Aries, this year just after midnight on the west coast, on April 20th, simultaneously applying a conjunction to the North Node, exact on April 24th… by this time Pluto will be applying an exact square to the Nodes—exact on August 4th—though this several month-long buildup will begin to feel more and more intense as the weeks add up, and the sun highlighting this for the first time will be something of an eye-opener.

The sun ends the month applying an inferior conjunction to a retrograded Mercury, on April 30th—exact on May 1st, through another degree visualizing options… this will be posted about closer to the date for paid subscribers.

Monthly Moon Moods

The Moon Through April

The moon through April can be understood more fully—and understood much more intimately, on the daily!—via my Moon Moods posts…

As mentioned above, the full moon in Libra occurs on April 5th—the same day the sun meets Chiron for its annual conjunction through the sixteenth degree—at 16*07’ Libra, and so this is quite a full moon indeed. Venus, governing this full moon, will be moving within the twenty-fifth degree of Taurus—a degree celebrating enjoyment… however, as Chiron is very directly involved in opposition to a Libran moon, I struggle to see such easily aroused enjoyments. Rather, this moon may bespeak more of appreciations and creativity—those born through the struggle and toil of a soul’s greatest yearnings… maybe then will true enjoyment be promised.

On April 13th the LQ moon occurs at 23*11’ Capricorn, simultaneously squaring Jupiter as the sun separates from its annual conjunction… the heavily emerging struggle here is in gaining some much-needed solitude or silence, particularly in regard to inner struggles, fears, and/or otherwise delusions about money, wealth, security, and personal stability. On this day Venus will be applying a square to Saturn, this LQ moon’s ruler, only adding to the tenderness these issues may evoke and/or perpetuate.

On April 19th the intensities of pressures are fully experienced, as this is also a total eclipse, through an anaretic twenty-ninth degree of Aries—the second Aries moon this year, the first one occurred through the first degree of Aries on March 21st—a degree which hinges sharply and heavily upon one’s own individuated efforts most previously… limitations will assuredly be introduced, if not more directly confronted, and one’s ‘new’ reality will be introduced most confrontationally. This eclipse also both highlights and illuminates a nearly exact square to Pluto by one degree, as it does a very tight near-conjunction to the NN—this pressure will find appeasement through one’s ability to command one’s own unique needs and demands, most specifically toward one’s personal purpose within this lifetime…

Finally, on April 27th the 1st Q moon occurs at 7*21’ Leo and thereby illuminates the very void the total eclipse alluded to on the 19th, fulfilling a very fixed grand cross between the sun, the nodes, and an opposition to Pluto… the pressures continue, though hopefully you’ve found a personal outlet through which these pressures can be released creatively and productively, rather than harshly and internally. Blockages bursting, demonstrations protesting, outbursts raging, and uprisings abound likely. If there’s something needed a shake-up, today would be an ideal day to shake it up.

Mercurial Machinations

Mercury in Aries, Taurus, Retrograde

Mercury begins the month in the late degrees of Aries, way ahead of the sun, and moves into Taurus by April 3rd, thereby simultaneously squaring Pluto, newly in Aquarius, and thereby also commemorating the first conversation between the two since their conjunction back on February 10th… whereas the conversation from February discussed something prophetic, this conversation on the 3rd, however, will regard matters of personal capital—and more specifically, how one might find ways to expand upon one’s creativity and purpose. This conversation will sound a bit different for everyone and will be translatable through where this square occurs within one’s personal houses within the nativity.

Mercury moves forward, then, to connect to the NN on April 6th, through a degree emphasizing refocusing, transition and change… likely in regard to whatever the conversation on the 3rd regarded between one’s personal messages with Pluto. It will be important for you to appropriately understand how these conversations are framed.

Then, most interestingly, Mercury moves forward, all the while applying Uranus—and then just before getting too close, Mercury stations on April 19th at 15*31’ Taurus (Uranus is at 17*48’ Taurus at this time), as if Mercury isn’t quite ready for what Uranus has in mind… this also implies that from the first day of April we are already within Mercury’s shadow.

Mercury moves back to connect to the sun in inferior conjunction—mentioned above—on May 1st, which I will publish a post on separately for paid subscribers next month… Mercury will eventually station to move directly again on May 13th at 5*59’ Taurus, nearly conjunct the NN by two degrees.

Venusian Ventures

Venus in Taurus, Gemini

At the beginning of the month Venus is very freshly separately from an annual conjunction to Uranus, which was exact on March 30th, and likely still reverberating from what would’ve been a conversation about resolving conflicts and oppositions…

From here, Venus moves into an easier connection to Pluto, by trine, as Venus ingresses into Gemini, on April 10th. From this perspective, in Gemini, Venusian ventures and Plutonian empowerments reflect on opportunity—and personal perceptions will either greatly create many… or very heavily ruin any potential thereof.

Venus then moves on to square Saturn on April 14th, though this will likely begin to feel confrontational several days beforehand—this square confronting the flexibility of extremes: extreme viewpoints, extreme ideas, extreme statements, extreme ideals… this will be the first conversation, by square, between Venus and Saturn since Saturn has been moving through Pisces, and I will publish a post regarding this for paid subscribers.

All the while, remember, as Venus moves through Gemini—Venus will be governed by Mercury’s motivations, and Mercury, as you read above, is somewhat slowed down this month and heavily overwhelmed… Venus finishes the month without further aspects, other than an application to Neptune, by square, exact on May 4th. Still, it is quite essential to remember through this month that Mercurial machinations and Venusian ventures will both be somewhat compromised, slowed down to the consistency and time frames of molasses dripping from the spoon, and overwhelmed with reality, and the parameters of our personal perceptions.

Mars Movements

Mars in Cancer

Mars begins April separating from Saturn—a first conversation of import I wrote about here—and this separation is somewhat stretched… stretched through the first full week of April.

And maybe then some…

Keep in mind through April another very heavily laced detail—Mars rules the total eclipse in Aries, as well as the moon’s moods. BAM!

On the day of the total eclipse—April 19th—Mars will be moving through a degree that might most aggressively impact matters occurring through the eclipsed landscapes of one’s personal reality… should you be as open-minded as possible, and as willing to actively face that which is unknown and unknowable—this impact could be much more advantageous; distrusting that which is beyond your controls will likely be met with a heavy dose of reality, most specifically toward struggles with purposelessness.

Mars will square Chiron, exact on April 27th, through a degree struggling for provisions—most likely those of a nurturing notion, or otherwise assisting or assistance-needing arena—depending, as always, of course, through one’s own native housing. Mars, in Cancer, is already heavily inundated with every passing feeling being felt, as well as personally regarding one’s inner fears, inner needs, and everything that was never easily come by—and then all of this squares back at Chiron, in Aries, most selfishly and self-centeredly regarding personally regarded personhood at all hours of each and every day… and so the struggle becomes, quite abrasively, a confrontation within one’s one self-created illusions and self-placed placements within the larger parameters of reality.

These measures and movements—hopefully not sidestepping any of it!—will linger through the remaining days of the month.

Junctures of Jupiter

Jupiter in Aries; Degrees 20—27*

Jupiter is connecting to the sun this month, on April 11th—which I have already mentioned above, and I will be covering this in a separate post for paid subscribers—and will then move forward, following the sun as if in shadow, through the third and final decan of Aries, all the while applying an eventual square to Pluto which will occur as Jupiter ingresses into Taurus, exact on May 16th.

As for April, let’s single out the days by degrees…

The degrees of Aries Jupiter moves through in April, in sequence:

April 1st-4th—20* Aries: social conscience; assistances; generosities

April 4-8th—21* Aries: exertion; oppositions; conflict; controversy; competition; courage; self-confidence

April 8-12th—22* Aries: prospects; openings and opportunities; temptations

April 12-16th—23* Aries: reticence; mysteries; privacies; reluctance; secrets; burden

April 16-20th—24* Aries: munificence; reciprocity; benevolence

April 20-25th—25* Aries: duality; choices; alternatives; that which is visible and invisible

April 25-29th—26* Aries: excess; versatility; fortunes; blessings

April 29th-May 3rd—27* Aries: reformulations; rectifications; remembrances; reestablishments; recovering; rescue; understanding

Structures of Saturn

Saturn in Pisces; Degrees 3—6*

Previous posts I’ve published regarding Saturn moving into Pisces can be read here, and here… and I am also preparing a post to publish, as promised, in reference to the impact Saturn will have, though Pisces, according to which house Pisces governs within the nativity—stay tuned.

As mentioned above, Saturn will be holding strong on its recent conversation with Mars as Mars moves sideways to separate… and will also knuckle-down on a square with Venus—though Saturn will also begin connecting to the NN by sextile by mid-month, which may prove to be quite constructive if utilized appropriately, and will thereby be somewhat connected, even if only by association, to the ever-building t-square alignment between Pluto and the Nodes… use this association wisely.

The degrees of Pisces, in sequence:

April 1st-3rd—3* Pisces: survival; stumbling blocks to progress; preservations

April 3rd-13th—4* Pisces: congestions; convergences; inundations; compressions

April 13-25th—5* Pisces: benevolence; community involvement; assistance; contributions

April 25th-May 9th—6* Pisces: discipline; protocols; rituals; rules; formalities; responsibilities
