Monthly Astrological Movements| Part 1
Solar Spotlights
Sun in Leo, Virgo
Beyond the solar highlighting involved in the full moon in Aquarius on the first of the month, the sun moves on to square Jupiter through a degree that emphasizes ‘a moment of glory’ in that there is a dramatic probability of heightened self-esteem as ‘a direct result of having made a worthwhile and valuable contribution to the common good and welfare of a group’. That saying that ‘more for me is more for you…’ applies in all directions and in all ways now.
The following week, on August 13th, the sun meets Venus in inferior conjunction through a degree that both highlights and reconciles personal limitations, which I will be writing more about in an additional post for paid subscribers.
The sun will then move forward to square Uranus on August 15th through a degree that dares to spotlight the audacities of indifference… these energies will likely promote opportunities for risk, for better or worse, but will also inspire further potentials in imperturbability.
Next up is the new moon in Leo which will be posted in my Moon Moods column upon the day, or the night before—your choice.
On August 23rd the sun moves into Virgo, and with this many renewed examples for self-care and nurturing self-improvement…
On August 24th the 1st quarter moon in Sagittarius will be posted via Moon Moods.
Then, the sun will make its annual opposition to Saturn on August 27th through a degree that advocates integrations—and ‘opportunities for endless varieties of relationships, and to respect for personality and the mutual appreciation of differences…’ and so the challenge, then, will be to renew or revive your sense of awe, and to learn to apply this awe toward something not only meaningful—but effective.

Monthly Moon Moods
The Moon Through August
On August 1st, right from the get-go of a new month, occurs the full moon in Aquarius at 9*16’, which has already been posted, and you can refer to it here.
On August 8th the LQ moon in Taurus occurs at 15*38’, a degree that has us (re)examining our relationship with wealth and money, resources, and personal values. Are you getting the most effective (or even accurate) message across?—or are you perpetuating your own vicious cycle? Are the results you’re wanting occurring or do you continue to struggle and/or meekly accept, or compromise with, whatever it is that results? This moon will inspire assistance if you’re needing help or support… if you’re able to ask or, perhaps more imperatively, able to set intentions more appropriately—or correctly (effectively).
On August 16th the new moon in Leo at 23*17’, within orb to a conjunction with a retrograded Venus, and exactly square Uranus—influencing this new moon to be one hell of a new moon—occurring through a degree that inspires self-exalted reciprocations… as well as creative expressions of any kind, particularly those that encourage personal authenticity. Further, new challenges and struggles—as well as new opportunities and potentials for growth—will emerge and confront directly… holding your ground will be most necessary whilst possessing an openness for Come What May.
On August 24th is the 1stQ moon in Sagittarius at 1*00’, a first of two 1stQ moons in Sagittarius—the second one occurring September 22nd—though this one will occur through a degree that emphasizes the essence and sentiment of all things, both pains and pleasures. In fact, there may be a most confronting pain or displeasure that comes to the forefront to be further, more preciously, analyzed in an effort to more fully understand, and to more thoroughly heal. This lunar influence could also inspire inner change, as well as actual movements forward… visions and ideals being both refined and expanded.
On August 30th the full moon in Pisces at 7*25’, a degree regarding a call to action… this wake-up call will regard self-refinements and furthered developments of expertise and skill—toward personal responsibilities and preparations for new experiences, landscapes, and/or evolutions of consciousness. These energies will inspire new directions—be they in pursuit of something new or within the realm of your own preferences or perspectives—as the need for something, anything, different will be as essential to you now as oxygen. Time for reflection is recommended, as is the simple suggestion to look only forward, in spite of sentiments otherwise, as what is behind you is no longer.
Mercurial Machinations
Mercury in Virgo, Rx
Mercury begins and ends the month in Virgo…
Immediately, Mercury begins to apply an opposition to Saturn through a degree that implies a diversion—it is necessary to begin new cycles now and fully complete the cycles you’re currently navigating. These diversions, more specifically, could include people from your past coming into your present in an effort to teach you something new or to offer you an new experience through the familiarity of your past… though these new experiences will likely not endure new cycles, but rather simply serve a most educational purpose or personal understanding through which to go forward.
These diversions, further, and perhaps most essentially, should not break through boundaries—but rather, divert your attentions from these boundaries of past and present most curiously because these details are of no consequence at this time…
There could be an influence of negativity, or borderline pessimism, and really important matters would be given more open-mindedness after such an opposition.
Then Mercury moves on to connect to Jupiter on August 10th by trine through a degree emphasizing further refinement… personal graciousness, now, will likely offer you anything you put your mind toward.
Mercury stations on August 22nd at 21*44’ Virgo, stationing retrograde on August 23rd at 21*51’ Virgo—a degree that speaks to privilege… which would imply that this retrograde could work to unravel or reflect upon matters of privilege through mid-September—matters of rights, inherited or not, as well as abuses or misuses of authority. As this is a retrograde within the energies of Virgo these matters will seek to be more intimately understood, analyzed, and improved upon in an effort to work more effectively for all involved.
Venusian Ventures
Venus Rx in Leo
Venus makes a second of three squares to Uranus on August 9th through a degree that dares to be audacious, in true Leonine preference… as this emphasizes the Venusian cycle that I’ve been delineating upon each point, this one pinpointing upon the Transition phase, and I will write further on this for those with paid subscriptions.
Venus then meets up with the sun in inferior conjunction on August 13th—and connects to Chiron by trine nearly exactly—this will be a point within the Venusian cycle that regards the phase of Inception and begins an entirely new Venusian cycle within your nativity, through a degree that speaks to ‘the dangers inherent in using anything alien or unnatural to self for stimulation…’ and I will be posting on this for paid subscribers.
August 15th marks the Gestation phase within this new cycle, and August 19th offers the Birth of a new cycle—and I will be delineating these in detail for paid subscribers.
Then Venus moves back into the second of three squares to Jupiter by August 21st through a degree accenting recovery, recuperation, restoration, and healing—as well as marking a point within the new Venusian cycle titled Emergence, and I will post on this, you’ve guessed it: for paid subscribers willing to nurture a balance of trade for my time and talents.
From here, Venus ends the month upon the thirteenth degree of Leo, ending this retrograde on September 4th.
Mars Movements
Mars in Virgo, into Libra
Mars begins the month of August in exact aspect to Jupiter through a degree that encourages an ability to gain whatever necessary through the combined influences of confidence and heritage, which is to imply genetics, which is to say genetic favor.
In other words—use what you’ve got and fake it till you make it.
Next Mars aspects Uranus by trine on August 16th through a degree that inspires freshness in perspective, as well as expectations… this aspect occurs on the same day as the Leo new moon through the same degree, though Mars is only associated to this through the energies of Uranus. In other words, Mars may actually offer some Virgoan stability and natural effectiveness to an otherwise volatile and/or spontaneous change or event that emerges from seemingly nowhere—and may even offer some more appropriately slower-motioned appreciation for whatever is occurring.
Mars then moves on to oppose Neptune on August 22nd through a degree that projects a serious need for careful deliberation toward something important—though an opposition to Neptune typically does not include much in terms of followthrough, much less successful achievements otherwise. This opposition could easily blur the edges of whatever Mars in Virgo has been working so determinedly to understand within your nativity, shifting the rules and/or boundaries, laws, or expectations altogether. This is also the same day Mercury stations retrograde, co-present in Virgo.
Before leaving Virgo Mars will connect to Pluto by trine on August 25th through a degree that empowers self-mastery… should the edges no longer be so blurred.
Mars moves into Libra on August 27th—and this shifts everything… I’ll be writing an additional post regrading this ingress.
Junctures of Jupiter
Jupiter in Taurus, Stationing to Rx/Degrees 14—16*
The month of August begin with Jupiter at 13*43’ Taurus and will station for retrograde on August 30th at 15*33’ Virgo and station retrograde on September 4th at 15*35’ Virgo. This retrograde will station direct on December 31st at 5*35’ Taurus.

Saturn begins the month of August upon 5*42’ Pisces, retrograde, and will end the month at 3*28’ Pisces, retrograde… this retrograde phase will end on November 3rd at 0*31’ Pisces.
