Solar Spotlights
Sun in Aquarius, Pisces
The month of February begins with the sun moving in Aquarius—now co-present with Pluto, which hasn’t happened recently since last year, though it hadn’t happened before that since January 22nd, 1779 at 1*28’ Aquarius…
At the very least—you should already be feeling within your bones and within your sixth sense functions that we’re in for some surprises, some unexpectedness, and some plain ole- weird circumstantials from here on for awhile.
So the month begins introducing via highlighting some of this Aquarian vibration—still, it’s likely good to remember that Mercury, Venus, and Mars are all still lagging behind in Capricorn without the presence of Pluto, which is another matter altogether. This feels like the essence of a Janus-faced predicament—having your one foot (or focus) upon the threshold of Capricorn, and thereby fundamentals needing tended to before moving forward, and one foot (or demanded focus) upon the horizons of Aquarius, and thereby the potentials and possibilities of ideals, collaborations, and real genuinely individuated goal-setting for the near-future.
We’re living and navigating within a reality that we have no familiarity with—even by association, no experience with—even with history books book-marked and highlighted, and no instructions or guidelines therein—even when we are nearly inundated with all of the many things that are apparently no longer appropriate.
We’re confronted with the first blank page of our new narratives, new plots, new roles, and new boundaries—the first book in a brand new series… where to begin?
January began with a very physical and emotional and motivational slog of slowness…
Until now—now I’ll bet you’re beginning again how to put one foot in front of the other, one thought next to another, and so on.
Especially by the 8th, when the sun squares Uranus through a degree highlighting certainty. These certainties could come through from actual information—new or otherwise informative, or from instinct, or even from higher powers using you as a vessel for inspired learning or inspirations otherwise.
The sun then moves into Pisces on the 19th of February—though Mercury will still be moving through the later degrees of Aquarius, while Venus and Mars and separating from a stellium in conjunction with Pluto through the first degree of Aquarius, and moving together in their own conjunction… and so, despite such lovely Piscean energy—might not be fully experienced, or appreciated, until maybe mid-March!—however, Saturn still moves in Pisces, so, the typical loveliness of Pisces will be somewhat obligated otherwise until June of next year.
The sun then connects to both Mercury and Saturn (!!!) in Pisces in exact conjunction by degree on the 28th through a degree that describes perspectives necessary toward rising above limitations…
Again, with Saturn here, and with Saturn directly involved—this could be exceptionally challenging, particularly depending upon what sector of your personal reality this is manifesting itself, and its complications.
What might have seemed, of felt, or otherwise been ‘true’ or ‘accurate’ or ‘real’ may now be heavily questioned and/or challenged, obstructed and/or contested. Considerations from all angles and communications from all sides will need to be assessed, reviewed, and factored in to the overall conclusions or resolutions.

Monthly Moon Moods
The Moon Through February
On February 2nd—the LQ moon in Scorpio at 13*36’ challenges our own sanity, rationality, and better judgments toward networking, communications, linking, and expanding relationships with all others in any way, on any level… it may be necessary to repair broken connections, or lines of communication—not to mention that exchanges in both communication and information were indeed exchanged. Further, some component of whatever it is, for you—however this is manifesting—may involve some smidge of alienation, or gas-lighting feel. If you feel as though you’re losing your cool in any way it might be healthy for you to honestly consider: why am I feeling this way?—am I paranoid, or is this really occurring?—and if so… what now?
On February 9th—the NM in Aquarius at 20*41’ renews your (re)evaluations toward what you gain when you obey authority, or don’t—particularly when personal sensations of regret are plaguing an otherwise ordinary circumstance… have you relied on the wrong things to get what you wanted, or to get ahead? What is actually worth your integrity?—your willingness to gamble? Either way, for better or worse—what is essential now is: have you learned through your experience?—and are you willing to apply what you have learned in the future? Keep moving forward… you’ve got this.
On February 16th—the 1st Q moon in Taurus at 27*25’ brings about that time of year when we, as shamanic astrologer Raven Kaldera suggests we ‘think about those devil’s bargains we are forced into…’ especially in regard to that which we genuinely appreciate—in fact, you may even have the honor of receiving something you have lost hope on… be this a material thing (because it’s Taurus), or financial gain (because it’s Taurus), or simply something practical, useful, wonderful, and beautiful—be it a notion, an ideal, a wish, or a need—having the unequivocally trusted faith for something (and this may be something that resembles a manifestation through the sector of your personal reality that Taurus governs within your chart) as well as a firm refusal to accept anything less—this is the inner challenge being experienced today, in one way or another, for better or worse.
On February 24th—the FM in Virgo at 5*23’ has you confronting your personal obligations, particularly in view of trade-off’s or compromises otherwise… these obligations—how do you feel about them?; who do you honestly believe owes you?; who actually supports you?; and what/how do you feel you are serving? This lunar event actually begins, for you, a brand new cycle—so it’s essential for you to assess these questions most seriously, as there is prime opportunity for you to change much, should you be dissatisfied… things may feel hectic now—and they are—though there remains a space for you to most honestly allow yourself a much-needed revival.
Mercurial Machinations
Mercury in Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces
Mercury is moving through the last degrees of Capricorn as February begins, connecting to Neptune on the 2nd, by sextile, through a degree that offers a smidge of blurred understanding, unpredictable information, and/or vague, cryptic or misleading communications. Fun. Or, you may need—or be required—to change something without notice, at last minute, or without previous knowledge otherwise. Finally, it would be best not to trust whatever emerges or promises anything.
Mercury the moves into Aquarius on the 5th and immediately connects to Pluto—for the first time in Aquarius since last year, and before that it has been quite a long time—and so what Mercury has to share, here, will likely be intensely important and worth noting.
Highly likely of interest now, as well, is matters and issues of self-sustainment. Remember—anything is possible in Aquarius, without notice in any way.
All new rules and boundaries in Aquarius—them’s the brakes.
You’ll likely need, or desire, reassurances… yet, how you go about gaining any will not resemble how you were ever used to obtain such a thing. You’ll need to be prepared to go out of your way, in one way or another—and this will associate itself to the sector in your personal reality that Aquarius governs within your chart.
Mercury then moves on to square Jupiter on the 10th through a degree that accents assertiveness—through which you may need to ‘take action to protect’ something.
Mercury then squares Uranus on the 17th through a degree that the sun connected to Uranus by square, as well, this degree inflicting curiosities in regard to certainties…
As it’s Mercury, now, making this connection—expect the unexpected in regard to messages received, information learned, and/or truths or facts or realities being expressed otherwise… these should offer you reassurances, though, it’s Uranus (with Mercury now in Aquarius, no less!)—so who knows, really, and it’s not advisable to gamble on it.
Mercury then moves into Pisces on February 23rd!—joining the sun, Saturn and Neptune… and you know what it means when Mercury starts moving so speedily—that it is preparing to station to retrograde (in March).
Mercury then connected to the sun in superior conjunction, and to Saturn, on the 28th—mentioned above in the Solar Spotlight section… though, from Mercury’s perspective, this stellium conjunction could offer real mental focus now, disciplined focus, and carefully selected thoughts, words, and agreements; honesty, integrity, modesty, and reservation. It would be advised, here, to be quite rigidly honest, however uncomfortable it will likely be (Saturn). As all of this is occurring in Pisces, the sector of your personal reality governed by Pisces will help direct you as to how and where this conjunction will manifest, though it could be a real concern about letting go, release of some kind, and/or a need to move forward in search of connection or healing or illumination, or other soul-related aspirations.
Mercury then connects to Jupiter, by sextile, on the 29th, through a degree that supports an inner questioning of authenticity, honesty, transparency, and character.
Are you who you say you are? Are they?
Tests, scrutinies, evaluations and assessments abound…
These energies, through higher frequencies will assist you in ferreting out any potential dishonesty—but it could also prove invaluable toward considering your own qualifications, allowing you opportunity to hone any necessary skills a bit more prudently before getting ahead of yourself.
Venusian Ventures
Venus in Capricorn, Aquarius
Venus begins February in Capricorn, lagging behind Mars and Mercury, the sun, and so on… though gaining speed and motivations by the day.
By February 7th Venus connects to Uranus by trine through a degree that seeks connection through the ‘restorations of harmony through bringing hidden situations to light, or exposing them so they can be dealt with and rectified…’
Interestingly, this same degree was emphasized through the energies of Mars and Uranus, from January 29th, when Mars made this same aspect. Yet, from the perspective of Venus, this restoration is much more gentle, much more bent on self-improving, and much more motivated by reconciliation, ultimately, with self and the beauty and ease of things…
And understanding. The genuine effort in understanding. If something is conflicted—why?
Then Venus moves on to connect to Neptune, by sextile, on the 13th, through a degree that desires vision… to ‘perceptions of higher realities, spiritual journeys, quests for’—wait for it, wait for it—’understanding, and determinations to comprehend ultimate purposes and meanings in life…’
In other words—no giving up now… go, see, do—as I’ve always said. Staying power is necessary now, especially in Capricorn—one doesn’t mess with that, or shouldn’t.
Venus then moves into Aquarius on the 17th and immediately connects to Pluto—and, as with both the sun and Mercury—it will be intensely essential to log this and observe, most importantly here, how you feel… not what it is, not what you’re thinking about it—but what you’re feeling about it, and how, or if, you feel connected in ways that are medicinal or dangerous.
This conjunction—again, the first one in a long while—occurs through a degree emphasizing self-sustainment. With the sun, these emphases highlight survival with Mercury, psychological applications; and with Venus, it beckons the need for meaningful connections and enduring values, and authentic purpose—applied. This said—for all of these examples—as it is Pluto, something is likely to need to be sacrificed or surrendered, so that the space can become open for what is truly yours.
And then, this month, we have a very special celestial event occurring—Venus will catch up to Mars, in conjunction, and the two will come together on the 21st through degree that inspires self-renewal…
New beginnings. Indeed. And—an entirely new Venus/Mars cycle…
There is intense potential, now, for you to open to new self-realizations, discover new talents or skills or aptitudes otherwise, and to be revived in ways most lovely and daring—all toward new directions, for new possibilities, promising new experiences.
Also—and this is crucial—there is a real refusal in regard to limitations…
Trust this.
Venus will then move ahead of Mars, though still in loose tandem until March, and move forward to connect to Jupiter, by square, on the 24th, through a degree that nearly assures ‘enthusiasm and excitement…’
Take a break. Enjoy yourself in a way that is big. Go all out. This said, however, you are much more likely to spend much more money than you otherwise would, and/or sustain much more caloric intake that you typically would—and keep it. Beware.
Mars Movements
Mars in Capricorn, Aquarius
As mentioned above, Mars remains in Capricorn—until February 13th—and these influences, however initially shadowed by Pluto, become a bit more utilitarian mid-month in January, motivated to activate the true essence of Capricornian energies…
Whether you planted and seeded your foundational gardens of metaphorical potential within that last week of January will be judged and decided upon through these first few weeks of February…
Mars will connect to Neptune, by sextile, on the 7th, through a degree that asks you to use your intuition… you may be ‘moving quickly to seize opportunities that present themselves…’ but to also incorporate that primal gut feeling toward anything that seems too good to be true.
Mars then connects to Pluto in conjunction—as the sun, Mercury, and Venus do—on the 13th, moving into Aquarius, and from the perspective of Mars these efforts in self-sustainment are motivated by a most primal instinct for survival—but through a means of durability and resiliency and experiential endurance.
As mentioned above, as well, is the Venus/Mars conjunction—though, again, from the perspective of Mars—this conjunction implies a direct and (nearly, if not impacted) confrontational opportunity to refuse limitations, be they personally assigned or assigned by erroneous societal parameters.
And again, how this conjunction manifests for you, personally, can be understood through the sector of your personal reality governed by Aquarius within your chart.
Finally, Mars moves to square Jupiter the 28th through a degree that challenges efforts in cooperation, personal growth, competencies, aspirations, ambitions, and personal struggles.
Ugh.
It’s somewhat informative to realize that, meanwhile, simultaneously, there is a Venus/Uranus square applying (to be exact March 2nd), and then it would behoove you to refer back to what Mercury has in store with the sun and Saturn at this time… ugh.
Things could get kinda crazy, not gonna lie. And hard. Conflicted. Heavy. Real.
Reality-check, squared.
Junctures of Jupiter
Jupiter in Taurus; Degrees 8-12*
Jupiter continues to loosely connect to Saturn by sextile all month… which is to say that there is a real and somewhat celestially magical connection between the likes of idealizing the ‘best-case scenario’ of something and having it manifest itself within the boundaries of reality.
This is not to say that the actual work doesn’t need to be done. It does.
But still… there’s an ease to what might otherwise be somewhat trying. Nice.
Otherwise…

Structures of Saturn
Saturn in Pisces; Degrees 7-

Plutonian Penetrations
Pluto in Aquarius till 2044
On February 21st Pluto moves into Aquarius fully, through that first degree wholly and ends the month at 1*13’ Aquarius.
This degree, this first degree, translates into the ‘probability of the improbable…’
Awesome.
Talk about weird things waiting in line for something truly expectedly unexpected…
Otherwise, this degree encompasses potential—you know, the raw, gritty, and real kind of moxie potential we all have within us, possessed within, however, those more erratically uncomfortable places within our psyches—the places we hesitate to grab.
Uncontrollability. This is the essence of this degree—particularly as Pluto moves through it. There is either an uncontrollable empowerment occurring within the sector of your personal reality that Aquarius governs… or a powerless uncontrollability.
I dearly wish for you the first potential.
Changing conditions are inevitably occurring—wildly. Unpredictably. Built-up tensions are finding the way, are being released, are erupting… are exploding.
These explosions and eruptions are prime for catharsis—opening to a cleansing and renewing—a revival of what it is to truly and genuinely feel alive in a way that you feel, in a way that makes you feel vulnerable… in a way that makes you feel complete.
What is your own personal responsibility toward these changes, these sensitivities, these potentials, these power/control dynamics?—can you come together in any way?
I’ll be writing a separate post regarding all of this Pluto stuff here in the near future— but these are some things to ponder until then.
To leave you with something powerfully empowering—the Chandra perspective of this degree…
A Woman Strolling in a Garden, Unaware That She is Being Watched by Elves…
We adopt a split-screen mind when the outward frame of things seems so insistent that we must be reasonable and logical and make complete sense in a quantitative, functional way…. but what happens is that the other side of our awareness—the outlawed side—gets very strong in the subconscious and stays alive.
We can almost play off of it in emphasizing our skeptical or worldly approach to thing—but there is a joke to it; for you are aware of what you are not aware of—you are tuned into the very things you deny.
This kind of edge hones the mind and the soul… it teaches invaluable lessons, no the least of which is to make way for the unknown while hugging the known close to you—knowing all the whole how profoundly the unknown beckons…
