It’s a new year. It’s that time of year… Resolutions. Many thrive on resolutions—others flounder by them. One thing is certain this year: these may need to be paused until mid-month.
The root of the ‘resolution’ is ‘resolute’, which lends itself to being ‘firmly determined; set in purpose or opinion’, while ‘resolve’ as a verb describes ‘to come to a definite or earnest decision about; to change, alter, or appear to change or alter (haha); or cause to decide’, though this word also suggests ‘separations; solving; dispelling; explaining away; conclusions; disintegrations’.
So, another thing is certain: these resolutions of yours this year may be a bit heavier to carry than in year’s past—all the more reason to take them seriously and not rush into it while both Mercury and Mars remain retrograde.
Still. Even if it feels as though time is passing oh-so painfully slowly and nothing seems to be moving at all, least of which, forward—Mercury in Capricorn, retrograde or not, is equipped to solve a problem, to correct a dilemma, to resolve an issue.
And so this particular problem, dilemma, or issue you’re currently navigating—something will need to be entirely cut from the narrative—separated in an effort to solve.
January will immediately ask of you to leave that which was no longer serving the vitality of your essence and/or efforts in the memory of 2022—and to fill this space with something that lights the way for you to further your journey of evolving into yourself, into your becoming.
Much is emerging now, and only time and energy will tell what your new narrative will be—most likely what you choose to put your efforts and motivations into, into what moves and evolves with you rather than holding all efforts back, down, or within.
Once Mercury stations to move directly its mental machinations toward all that you dare to dream will sharpen and gain more meaningful insights in the direction of your goals—and when Mars stations to move directly, in Gemini, its instinct to move forward will begin to reverberate all that you have learned between now and October, and may you finally begin to feel heard, acknowledged, integrated, and resolute in your dreams, goals, projects, or ideals otherwise. Showing up, standing still, and boldly proclaiming new boundaries and expectations was difficult, and courageous—but the impact of resolving to stand firm and keep going, despite it all…
This will be life changing.
