Solar Spotlights
Sun in Taurus, Gemini
The next eclipse will be lunar and occur on May 5th here in the states, at 14*58’ Scorpio, while the sun moves through this same degree within Taurus…
Through this degree, within Taurus, the sun will eclipse the highlighting of any nonchalance you may still be embracing—it will no longer be possible to continue ignoring any circumstances where settling has occurred, or been allowed, for whatever reason. Personal values, integrity, and dignity, however subtle, will be firmly confronting, likely throughout the entire month and into the next six months.
As the sun moves through Taurus, it will connect to Uranus for its annual conjunction on May 9th, and nearly immediately highlighting creativity and new vision or perspective, as well as likely potentials that have not been acknowledged… until now. And, of course, there is a high probability of change and opportunity thereof.
The essence of trust will be both highlighted and illuminated this month… and this opportunity, alone, will be worth all the unknowing in the meantime.
This year the sun moves into Gemini from Taurus eleven minutes into May 21st and then begins to apply its first square to Saturn, exact on May 28th.
The sun’s annual conjunction to Saturn occurred on February 16th at 27*44’ Aquarius, before Saturn moved into Pisces—and this first conversation between the sun and Saturn, then, will likely be a heavier toned communication… of potentials, and reality.
The degree through which the sun and Saturn will square refers to revitalizing and sustaining, to regenerating, to self-renewing… in ways that benefit you—in an effort to ‘fill your own well…’ I’ll be writing more on this note, as this will be an entirely different conversation with Saturn than is typical—maybe there really is something to Saturn being in Pisces, not to mention, the sun receiving its message through Gemini.
Monthly Moon Moods
The Moon Through May
The moon through May can be understood more fully—and understood much more intimately, on the daily!—via Moon Moods posts…
As mentioned above, the lunar eclipse in Scorpio occurs on May 5th—at 14*58’ Scorpio—and loosely conjoins Uranus in conjunction, only adding to the volatility and impulse of the event… this eclipse will very much illuminate the inner potentials yet to be honestly acknowledged or explored while our inner doubts and surface fears become eclipsed of any actual meaning or relevance, if only for the time. All changes emerging now, or trying to, will be felt much more intensely from within and will be hard to ignore—opening yourself to these incredible potentials of offer now would be a magical undertaking, as well as one hell of a consciously intended exercise in trust.
On May 12th the LQ moon occurs at 21*37’ Aquarius as the sun separates from its annual conjunction to Uranus… this is a moon that will likely bring out our inner resistances and illuminate where (further) confrontations will need to occur to regard compromises we’ve been making previously along our journey… or, this moon could present us with an opening to finally feel a sense of security or belonging—either way, it’s essence is that of honoring all that is while also facilitating necessary adjustments.
On May 19th the new moon in Taurus occurs at 28*26’… this moon, despite its darkness within the landscape of the night sky, may illuminate for you something needing acknowledged—inspiring inner thoughts regarding the contributions you offer in this lifetime, the repairs still needing tended to within the bond you hold with your inner knowing, and, perhaps most simply, a re-connective review as to how things are coming along… particularly if you’ve been journeying without a real map.
And on May 27th the 1stQ moon occurs at 6*06’ Virgo… and will involve much in the way of thoughts, mentalities, interactions, and obliged exchanges—it will be a time you might want to retreat and/or regroup, if you’re unable to retreat, and restrain yourself back into the routine, into the discipline of your goals and/or ideals, into the commitment you’ve previously made with yourself regarding your personal values. This will be a time to slow, pause, and/or stop to come back to reality and reconsider needs, finances, resources and priorities—and take it all quite seriously…

Mercurial Machinations
Mercury in Taurus, Stations
Upon the first day of May, Mercury meets the sun in inferior conjunction, and you can read about that here…
From there, Mercury stations on May 15th and begins retracing its steps through such recently tilled Taurean grounds, moving onward in a working, building applying square, moving through the seventeenth degree of Taurus before the month of May turns into the month of June.
You can also read about Mercury’s stationing in the link provided above.
Venusian Ventures
Venus Leaves Gemini for Cancer
The beginning of the month finds Venus squaring Neptune from Gemini on May 4th from a degree that describes expenditures—so watch your wallet and your fantasies… however there’s a bit more to it than that. I’ll likely write more about these really lovely energies in a separate, additional post for paid subscribers.
From here, Venus moves quickly into Cancer, and so the month of May very much pursues connections and reconciliations through the lens of a crustacean—which is to say that these will be pursued passively, laterally, and tenderly, with nurturing a more dominating accent than say, the catch.
From within Cancer, Venus experiences something of a lengthened connection with Saturn by trine, exact on May 12th, offering a more inspired and heavily obliged lesson on magic and magical intuitions—which I’ll definitely be writing more about for paid subscribers—and is sure to be something of a real opportunity to ‘make something happen…’
From here Venus moves forward to apply a square to Chiron, exact on May 24th, which could be less than cooperative… I will write a separate, additional post on this, as well, for paid subscribers.
Venus will move into Leo on June 4th, though by the end of May Venus will be slowing, even ever so slowly, to prepare for the eventual and inevitable retrograde in Leo, beginning in late July through August.
Mars Movements
Mars in Cancer, Leo
Mars begins the month of May applying a connection to Neptune by trine, exact on May 15th while also applying an opposition to Pluto in Aquarius, exact on May 20th—as Mars moves into Leo, which begins building a simultaneous square to Jupiter moving into Taurus, as well as to the NN, all converging at once within Taurus, and thereby creating a t-square arrangement of very fixed volatility.
Mars moves into Leo on May 20th, and from here moves forward to continue building this t-square energy between Pluto and the Jupiter/NN conjunction, and ends the month, on May 31st, with the moon illuminating the void of this building t-square from Scorpio—which will assuredly illuminate something quite motivating…
The peak of the month, from Mars’ perspective, is from May 15-20th, as well as its adaptations into June.
All of these highlights—the t-square between Mars, Pluto, and the Jupiter/NN conjunction will be covered in a separate, additional post for paid subscribers, as well as Mars simply being in Leo… though, I will also provide a lunarly perspective of the illuminations, on May 31st, via Moon Moods.
However, the Mars/Neptune trine occurring mid-month, seemingly blurring the edges between one thing and another…
You’ll want to clearly acknowledge that which isn’t working very honestly, and very directly—even if it is pinpointing something you’ve always done—as it will be important for you to be open to making necessary adjustments in order to continue moving forward… or the summer months might be really harsh.
Junctures of Jupiter
Jupiter Moves into Taurus…
Jupiter moves into Taurus on May 16th—just another major emphasis upon the middle of the month—which will immediately shift Jupiter’s obligations, from being motivated by Mars to being motivated by Venus…
This will feel really good—though motivations and/or stamina could also become quickly and dramatically slowed.
Jupiter will move through Taurus until May 25th, 2024 and will retrograde within Taurus from September 4th through January 1st, 2024, and I will be writing a separate, additional post regarding Jupiter in Taurus closer to the middle of the month.
And, as I mentioned above, in the Mars Movements section, Jupiter will be colliding with the NN in conjunction as these two directly square both Mars and Pluto through the fixities of Taurus, Leo and Aquarius… which will be discussed in the additional post—but it’s important to understand that this may be one of the biggest celestial aspects within the year, so you’ll want to be informed.
As you can see, from the list below, that the crisis point for Jupiter is through the second degree of Taurus, from May 20-25th, which is precisely on point for several other planetary agendas this month, as well as the timing toward the t-square arrangement with Mars and Pluto… though, if you look beyond this degree, you can also see that Jupiter’s forward movements further into Taurus turn quickly, and quite reassuringly—should the crisis be confronted, and embraced, rather than avoided.
As for the overall movements in May, let’s single out the days by degree—
May 1st-3rd—27* Aries: reformulations; rectifications; remembrances; reestablishments; recovering; rescue; understanding
May 3rd-May 7th—28* Aries: disjunction; shifting in attitudes and values; self-reliance; dissatisfaction; frustration
May 7-12th—29* Aries: inspirations; encouragements; appreciations; exaltations; devotions

May 20-25th—2* Taurus: crisis; impact; climax; outburst; drama; clearance; catharsis
May 25-29th—3* Taurus: opportunity; quests; visions; hope; optimism; promise
May 29th-June 3rd—4* Taurus: incentive; prosperity; happiness; value; abundance; wealth; reward; success; fulfillment; victory; accomplishment; promise

Structures of Saturn
Saturn in Pisces; Degrees 6—7*
Clearly, when Saturn moves only a degree within a month—it’s a direct indicator that Saturn is slowing and preparing to station for retrogradation, which will occur next month…
The aspects to Saturn through the month of May have already been mentioned previously throughout this post—a trine to Venus and a square with the sun—and these will be covered through separate, additional posts for paid subscribers.
However, you can see below, within the list, that Saturn’s movement through the seventh degree of Pisces, from May 9th through the first of June, isn’t exactly ideal.
In an effort to oblige our personal ideals, we will need to dutifully reject that which no longer illuminates the path toward or through these ideals… it will be important for you to remember that Saturn’s influence through the month of May will be to most compassionately remind us of these longer-ranged devotions and/or commitments.
As for the overall movement of Saturn through this month, the two degrees—
May 1st-9th—6* Pisces: discipline; protocols; rituals; rules; formalities; responsibilities
May 9th-June 1st—7* Pisces: withdrawal; rejection; retraction; neglect; denial; annulment; cancellation; disapproval; disowning; nullification; objection; protest; dissent; negation; abandonment; refutation
If you would like any further clarifications with either of these degrees, please feel free to message me at the bottom in comments, or email me.
